Guidelines for Visiting Scholars and Experts to Chang Fo-Chuan Center for the Study of Human Rights at Soochow University

Chang Fo-Chuan Center for the Study of Human Rights at Soochow University (hereafter the Center) invites and accepts visiting scholars and experts to teach, lecture or conduct research on human rights with the aims of facilitating human rights research and international educational exchange. To achieve those aims, the Center establishes these “Guidelines for Visiting Scholars and Experts to Chang Fo-Chuan Center for the Study of Human Rights at Soochow University” (hereafter the Guidelines).
Two
Visiting scholars and experts shall submit the following documents at least one month before the proposed visit in order to be reviewed and considered by the Center’s Steering Committee:
    (a) application form
    (b) curriculum vita
    (c) covering letter indicating the purpose of the visitor’s research and desired dates of stay in Taiwan.
    (d) research plan
    (e) endorsement statement(s) from sponsor(s)
Three

Visiting scholars or experts may claim reimbursement for lecture/conference fees provided the Center’s financial circumstances allow so, and that the visitor furnishes a receipt.
Four

Visiting scholars or experts are obliged to give no less than one academic lecture or one mini-course in order to enhance exchange in the human rights field and to broaden horizons.
Five

The Center may provide or assist in providing the following services:
    (1) customs services;
    (2) application for a library card;
    (3) application for research space; and
    (4) application for guest accommodation on campus.
Six

The Guidelines shall be implemented after being approved by the Center’s Steering Committee, likewise with any revisions.
