As our department focuses on developing useful skills in students, many of our alumni have gone on to achieve great successes.  More than 60 percent are in teaching, research, or engineering positions.  In each year’s graduating class, more than half choose to continue further study, most of whom enter domestic graduate schools while the rest pursue international opportunities.

     Courses within the physics department are rigorous and creative, placing emphasis on both theory and application.  Over the years our graduating students have pursued various fields in physics, including fundamental physics,* optoelectronics, astronomy, space science, atomic science, materials science,
