複利專題 (Seminar of Compound Interest)
The purpose of this and “Financial Insurance” course is to help students who would like to go towards actuarial insurance build fundamental knowledge of financial management to response global integration of financial service. The specific content of this course is to help students have financial knowledge required by SOA/CAS course 2 such as capital budgeting, financial statement analysis, financial structure understanding, and decision-making principle of financing based on what they learned from “compounding mathematics” course.
保險數學導論 (Course Syllabus for Actuarial Mathematics)
The course is designed to provide undergraduate students the fundamentals of actuarial mathematics that includes pricing and reserving for life insurance products.
精算經濟 (Economics for actuarial students)
The main objective of this course is to help students who would like to go towards actuarial insurance meet the requirement of VEE-Economics. The content of this course is close to that of microeconomics with 3 credits and macroeconomics with 3 credits for students outside the Department of Economics in the School of Business, so we would not suggest students who took the above courses to take this course for saving the learning time and teaching resources unless they plan to go towards actuarial insurance field in the future.
保險經營 (Insurance Management)
The design of this course is to focus on the theory and practice of life insurance operation hoping that students can combine them and get a comprehensive understanding of insurance operation through each seminar of operation techniques in the insurance industry for employment preparation.
存活分析 (Survival Analysis)
Introduction of part general statistical analysis and application of survival data as well as overview of initial fundamental theory. The statistical estimation method such as statistics and survival rate of survival data as well as application in industry, insurance, and medical experimentation will be covered in this course as well, among which includes statistical analysis and relevant applied practice of the life table, Kaplain-Meier estimates, log-rank test, Cox proportional-hazards regression model, and acceleration model.
財務管理 (Financial Management)
The objective of this course is to help students understand Corporate finance which covers financial concepts and relevant valuation analysis of it. In addition, introduce risk management under the financial environment as well as international financial management and relevant financial derivative instruments among which includes the latest research area, Eva and Real Option, in the financial field.
金融創新 (Financial Innovation)
Extended from “Financial Derivative Instruments”, this course is aimed to help students build a fundamental concept of financial engineering to proceed financial innovation in the future. Furthermore, this course introduces fundamental valuation and hedging concepts of new financial products and practically analyzes contracts of new financial products which are popular in the current market. In additional to lectures from teachers, this course asks students to analyze contracts of new financial products that are popular in the current market such as types and resources of risks, valuation, and hedging in the class.
