In 1999, the School of Business launched “Undergraduate Program of Business (UPB)” by merging the four evening divisions from Department of Economics, Department of Accounting, Department of Business Administration, and Department of Business Mathematics (currently known as Department of Financial Engineering and Actuarial Mathematics) into an independent degree program.
Throughout the whole developing process, UPB has put emphasis on improving the on-job students the professional knowledge and practical skills, as well as promoting their general competency and globalization insights. These have made up UPB’s three educational objectives:
- Form the basis for business education and fulfill the needs of professional knowledge
- Theoretically and practically strengthen the professional skills
- Diversify and expand future development with globalization insights
With the changing business landscape and evolving social trends, UPB has actively responded by collaborating with Soochow University and our strategic partnerships. In line with this partnership, we have made adjustments and updates to our existing curriculum, introducing two new programs: "Accounting and Finance Program" and " ESG Sustainable Development Program." These programs aim to enhance students' understanding and expertise in these areas, while also nurturing a strong sense of professionalism. We are committed to equipping our students with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their chosen fields, all while instilling a deep sense of social responsibility.
