Vision Statement

Education cultivates professionals, and professionals dominate the future. However, dreamscan come true only if those professionals have a purpose. Therefore, our vision is to find a way to inspire them to find a dream and target they can embrace their whole life and encourage them to practice to be responsible, face the music, meet the challenges, be creative, and believe in themselves.

Concept & Method
  1. Provide a variety of opportunities to create the learning and exploration environment of "Come Get It If You Want It” to help students’ self-development and self-implementation.
  2. Provide career counselling, evaluation testing, lectures and career information to help students expand view and understand themselves.
  3. Provide volunteer training to allow growthwith work experience through service learning.

Service Item

The Career Development Center is the place to help students plan their careersand develop competency which includeslearning problems during study, individual career direction inquiry, and selection between further study and work.

We have professional career counselors to provide you life and career counselling and assist you in solving confusion about future.

In addition, we have a variety of activities such as counselling lectures relevant to life and career and business visits. Students can recognize their life plan more to start to prepare competency through those activities. Welcome to our center at both campuses to ask for activity and work-study information or borrow any career related magazine.

History

In 1982, the "Career Counselling Office for Graduated Students” was established in accordance with the Article of School.

In March1991, it was renamed the"Career Development Center” under the Office of Student Affairs after it had been passed by the "Career Counselling Committee for Graduated Students”. There is one Director, part-time advisor, and work-study student. Because of the building renovation, that office was set at basement of Ai Tu Building on the Wai Shuang Hsi campus. The Career Development Center was established on the Downtown campus to start career counselling as suggested by the "Career Counselling Committee for Graduate Students”.

In August 1991, one teaching assistant was recruited for each campus to assist business treatment. A full-time career advisor was recruited as well.

In March 1993, advisor and teaching assistants were renamed to counselor and staff respectively by the regulation of the school. The office in Wai Shuang Hsi campus was moved to 2ndfloor of the Complex Building.

In March 1995, the revision of organization regulation of our school was passed by the Ministry of Education under which Article 12 states that "Office of Student Affairs was established in this school and is hosted by the Dean. There are Discipline, Extracurricular Activity, Healthcare, Overseas Chinese and International Students Counselling Divisions, each with their own Head. The student Counseling Center and Career Development Center were established separately with one Head in each center.”

In August 1995, one part-time counselor was recruited.

In November 1995, revision of organization regulation of our school was passed by theMinistry of Education under which Article 12 states that "Office of Student Affairs was established in this school and is hosted by the Dean. There are Discipline, Extracurricular Activity, Healthcare, Overseas Chinese and International Students Counselling, Student Counselling, and Career Development Divisions, each with an individual Head,who will be nominated by the Dean of Student Affairs and recruited by the President.”We were re-named the"Career Development Division”. The discipline staff were recruited as counselors under the order of the Ministry of Education.

In May 1999, host national "Career Counselling Group Workshop”was commissioned by the National Youth Commission, Executive Yuan.

In August 1999, four part-time counselors were recruited.

In September. 2000, The Downtown campus office was moved to the R4103, 4th Building.

In September. 2001, one part-time counselor was recruited.

In August 2002, we were renamed the"Career Development Center”.

In September 2002, The Downtown campus office was moved to R6203 in 6th Building.

In August 2012, we were moved under the"Office of Social Resource”after the revision of school organization. The Wai Shuang Hsi campus office was moved to A102 on the 1stfloor of Administration Building.
