Education Objective The objective of college education aims to search for strategies that assist people in solving encountered problems. We believe that business organization is one effective method In addition to professional training, we also hope that our business administration education will help students to develop real problem-solving abilities, macroscopic vision, and a strong tendency to succeed in meeting the needs of the changing environment of the future. In order to achieve this ideal, we set up educational objectives respectively for the undergraduate program, MA program, and MBA program, hoping to cultivate T-typed managerial talents equipped both with width and expertise, to promote both theoretically and realistically practiced teaching and research, to emphasize the cultivation of students’ attitude and ability, and to broaden students’ global vision and diverse development. In order to meet the education objectives of Soochow University, and to assist students in developing core competence so that they can reach self-understanding, determine study directions, complete individual competitiveness, the Department has set up a package of core competence indicators for the undergraduates and has built up their connection with all courses. Through course design and teaching plans, each competence indicator is very likely to be developed and meets the education objectives of the department. The graduate program of the Department primarily focuses on developing students’ independent thinking, problem-analyzing and problem-solving abilities. Professional fields include Organization and Human Resource Management, Marketing and Information Management, Financial Management, Supply Chain and Logistics Management. Besides, the Department allows students to take all courses offered either by the MA class or by the MBA class to facilitate interactions among students, giving full-time students the opportunity to understand practical problems. In addition, the course-taking style enlarges the number of courses for all students to take. The Department established the Global Business Program in 2008. Students are enrolled individually and all courses are lectured in English.
