To become a professional social worker should be able to empathize and become self-conscious, to understand how social problems affect the individual and the families, and to take responsibility to solve those problems while encounter social changes accordingly.  

Field education is included in all of our programs.  The element of "learning by doing” is emphasized in the Bachelor of Social Work Program（BSW）.  Those who caring for the disadvantaged,  driven to help, and enthusiastic to serve are encouraged to join the partnership in the field of social work. 

    The foreign students of the Department of Social Work at Soochow University include students from different countries, overseas Chinese students, and mainland China students.  It takes 2 and 4 years respectively to receive the degrees of Bachelor and Master, with extension to two years at most.  Please refer to 「Admission Brochure」of the year to confirm the number of admission. 

International Students

International students are qualified to submit the application if meet the regulations written in both items of article 2 and 3 from「Enrollment Guide for International Students, Soochow University」.  Admission is issued by application.  Please see the「Admission Brochure for International Students」of the year. 

Overseas Chinese Students

Overseas Chinese students（including those from Hong Kong & Macau）must apply to the 「University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Students」.（Soochow University does not accept individual application）.

Mainland China Students

Students from Mainland China must apply to the 「University Entrance Committee for Mainland Chinese Students」.（Soochow University does not accept individual application）.
