School Overview
Founded in 2015, the School was previously led by Dean Dr. Wei-Liang Chao and Dean Dr. Jin-Hsung Hsu, and has been under the leadership of Dean Professor Kai-Yi Chin since 2025.
Currently, the School houses the Department of Data Science, offering three degree programs: the Undergraduate Program, the Master's Program, and the In-Service Master's Program, with a total student body of approximately 604 students. Classes are conducted across two campuses:
1.Waishuanghsi Campus: Undergraduate Program and Master's Program
2.Downtown (Chengzhong) Campus: In-Service Master's Program
Starting in the 2027 academic year (116th Academic Year), the School will launch a new Bachelor's Program in Artificial Intelligence Innovative Applications.
To support academic and administrative operations, the School maintains a dedicated team of 3 full-time administrative staff members (1 for the School, 2 for the Department) and 1 full-time teaching assistant. The staff works collaboratively and tirelessly to handle administrative duties across all degree programs and resolve student inquiries.
Educational Vision & Facilities
Upholding the philosophy of "Integrating Theory with Practice, Aligning with Industry Needs," the School focuses on data analysis, AI applications, and big data management to cultivate high-level professionals equipped with data literacy and cross-disciplinary integration capabilities.
To meet the demands of the smart technology era, the School established the Smart Innovation AI Learning Center in the 2024 academic year (114th Academic Year). Equipped with high-performance GPU workstations, the center supports teaching and research in AI algorithms, data engineering, generative technologies, and multimedia design. As a premier hub for AI and multimedia application education on campus, the center promotes cross-faculty course integration and co-teaching mechanisms, encouraging students to engage in interdisciplinary learning and collaboration, igniting their passion for generative AI, interactive technologies, and innovative design, and ultimately building a talent development base seamlessly aligned with industry needs.
