Alumni Chu-I, Chang Scholarship


● Objective: In order to help needy students in Department of Information Management, public-spirited Alumni Chu-I, Chang set up the "Alumni Chu-I, Chang Scholarship” for this department.

● Qualification:
  1. Current students at undergraduate or Master’s program in this department.
  2. From needy family
  3. Above 80% of conduct grade during the previous semester.

● Amount and quota of scholarship: NTD$5,000 for two students each per semester

 

Alumni Tsung-His, Lai Scholarship

● Objective: In order to encourage students to participate in competitions relevant to information to enhance their ability of information system design, public-spirited Alumni Tsung-His, Lai set up the "Alumni Tsung-His, Lai Scholarship” in this department to aid them. 

● Current students in this department who participate in global (cross-strait included) competitions recognized by Director or domestic one relevant to information skills. If awarded, students will be given the equivalent awarded amount with limitation of NTD$30,000 for gold medal, NTD$20,000 for silver medal, NTD$10,000 for bronze medal, and NTD$5,000 for others. 

● It is required that the team members in top three winner teams of our program design competition must be current students in this department. The award in this competition is NTD$10,000 for gold medal, NTD$5,000 for silver medal, and NTD$3,000 for bronze medal. 

● Qualification: Current students at undergraduate or Master’s program in this department.

 

Alumni Hsien-Hung, Chu Scholarship for Outstanding Students

● To encourage current outstanding students in this department, Alumni Hsien-Hung, Chu donates USD$6,000 as scholarship to us per year to encourage outstanding academic students as well as expand their global view. The regulations areas below:

● Award items and qualification:

Students in this department may apply for this scholarship if they meet any requirement below. The first item is subject to current students in this department and the second to fourth items are subject to one application per student.  

  1. Students who took mandatory courses in the undergraduate program of this department (project experiment excluded) and achieved the highest score among each class (group) can be awarded NTD$2,000 and a certificate of merit. Scholarships will be evenly distributed for students with equivalent scores. 
  2. Students who participated in the English ability test with a score equivalent to 82 of the TOEFL iBT (219 of TOEFL CBT, 556 of TOEFL ITP, and 6.0 of IELTS included) can be awarded up to NTD$5,000 each with limitation of the total amount USD$1,500.
  3. Students who participated exchange student program to foreign universities can be awarded up to NTD$20,000 each with priority given to foreign language countries. Applicants shall apply for this scholarship after the exchange program has been completed. The total awarded amount for this scholarships USD$2,000.
  4. Students who participated and presented in English at global academic meetings in foreign countries that were recognized by the Director can be awarded up to NTD$10,000 for Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, or Central Asian areas and up to NTD$20,000 for others. The thesis published shall be co-published with advisor under the name of this department. Applicant shall be current students in this department when submitted his thesis. Each thesis is limited to one scholarship only.

 

Mr. Ping-Chuan, Su Scholarship for Information Education

● Objective: In order to remember parents and show gratitude for their cultivation of children, Alumni Yuan-Pi, Su set up the "Mr. Ping-Chuan, Su Scholarship for Information Education” to help needy students in this department. 

● Source: Alumni Yuan-Pi, Su donates USD$10,000 to aid needy students in the undergraduate program with principle of NTD$35,000 for four students each semester. 

● Qualification:

1. Freshman in the undergraduate program:

  ✓ GSAT score of individual application or star program: Total grades of Chinese, English, and Mathematics are above 30.

  ✓ Scores of advanced subjects test: Total grades of Chinese, English, and Mathematics are above 50th percentile benchmark.

  ✓ Scores of disabled freshman: Average grades of Chinese, English, and Mathematics are above 60. 

2. Students in the undergraduate program:

The grades of the previous semester for disabled students is required to be within top 60% and the other students is within top 50% in the class.

 

Alumni Scholarships for Department of Information Management in Soochow University

● Objective: To aid students in this department to focus on study so to improve their employment competitiveness by Alumni.

● Source: Regular small fundraising of "One drop is plenty, assist each other” by Alumni and outsiders who care about students in this department.

● scholarships and qualification:

Students in this department may apply for any scholarship below if they meet its requirements.  

A. Focus on Study Scholarship:

1. To aid outstanding four students in this department per semester, NTD$35,000 is offered to each student to encourage them to focus on study. 

2. Qualification:

1Freshman in the undergraduate program:

   ✓  GSAT score of individual application or star program: Total grades of Chinese, English, and Mathematics are above 30.

   ✓  Scores of advanced subjects test: Total grades of Chinese, English, and Mathematics are above 50th percentile benchmark.

   Disabled or athletics students with outstanding grades 

(2)Students in the undergraduate program: The grades of the previous semester for disabled students is required to be within the top 60% and the other students is within the top 50% of the class.

(3)Students in the Master’s program: 6 credits or more of the Master’s program recognized by this department are required during the previous semester with grades above 80%. The ranking of admission or entrance examination of freshman is required to rank within the top 50%.

B. Outstanding Research Scholarship:

1. To encourage students whose thesis was accepted by the journal in the SSCI, SCI, and EI databases with limitation of NTD$20,000 each.

2. To encourage students who thesis was evaluated to be accepted under the journal in the Taiwan Social Sciences Citation Index (TSSCI) by Research Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences, the Ministry of Science and Technology with limitation of NTD$10,000 each.

The thesis for above two awarded items are required to be under the name of this department and co-published with advisor from the current students in this department. This scholarship is up to NTD$40,000.

C. Professional Certificate Scholarship:

Current students in this department who passed professional certificate examination and receive certificate can be awarded by part of registration fee up to NTD$5,000 per student per semester. This scholarship can award up to NTD$60,000.

D. Patent Scholarship:

Current students in this department who received patents in the Republic of China, U.S., Japan, or the European Union with faculty of this department can be awarded up to NTD$10,000 per case.

E. Further Study Scholarship:

Current students who enrolled in Master’s programs in this department can be awarded registration fee ofNTD$1,500 then NTD$5,000 for actual enrollment.
