In addition to providing professional knowledge in history to our students, we also stress the importance of cultivating students’ abilities in various areas including, but not limited to, critical thinking, communications, discourse writing, data collection and analysis, leadership, and planning and management. These skills ensure our graduate students will have a wide range of future career choices, some of which are: continuing studies, teaching (in history, education, art and architecture, and administration and management, etc.), applying for a government position (in archival administration, archives and records management, and international affairs, etc.), news and media, publishing, tourism, and museum and archival staff. These are all areas in which our graduate students may choose to establish their career.
