Since 2006, the members of Central and Eastern European Center have started collaborateand exchange frequently with the following central and eastern European institutions, including Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of Polish Academy of Sciences, Institute of Sociology of Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and Slovak Academy of Sciences, etc.

 

The major academic collaborative programs includes :

1.The local social development in the process of transition and globalization: The case studies of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.(Funded by the National Science Council)

2.The development of local societies under globalization: The case studies of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Taiwan. (Funded by the National Science Council)

3.“Czech-Taiwanese Joint Research Project”(PPP)  Social Apathy and Trust in the Civil Society :The comparison between the Czech Republic and Taiwan. (Funded by the National Science Council)

4.“University Education and Global Consciousness-Studies on Young Generation in Taiwan and Czech Republic”- Joint Research Project between Soochow University and the Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies of Czech Technical University in Prague.

 

Besides, Central and Eastern European Center actively promotes the academic exchanging programs with central and eastern European universities. The programs include the central and east European summer camp (held twice) and the signing of academic exchanging contracts between Soochow University and universities in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
