Undergraduate Degree of the Department of Chinese Studies
The channels students admitted to the university are classified into three categories including CEEA(College Entrance Exam and Allocation), CAR (College Admission via Recommendation) and Transfer Exam.

Admission Requirements
一、Pass College Entrance Selection System: Material Submission Only
1. Pass College Entrance Selection System: Submit application materials
2. Pass College Entrance Exam System: Submit exam results of the designated subjects.
Group A : Submit the College Entrance Exam results of the designated subjects.
Group B : Submit the College Entrance Exam result from the Technological and Vocational Education system.
Master Degree of the Department of Chinese Studies
一、Pass College Entrance Selection System
1. Preliminary Trial(Examination of the applicants application materials and Written tests)
(1) Application material requirements: Statement of Purpose(20%),Certifications of personal research skills and experiences (20%)
(2)Written tests : Classical Chinese Writing (30%), The History of Chinese Literature(30%)
2. Second Trial: Preliminary trial qualification and interview(on Statement of Purpose and Chinese Studies.)
二、Pass College Entrance Exam System: Designated Subjects
(1) Chinese Studies
(2) History of Chinese Literature and History of Chinese Ideologies (must choose one)
(3) Chinese Philology
Chinese Studies result takes up 30% of the total score, the examination includes both classical and modern Chinese writing. The selected optional subject and Chinese Philology both take up 35% of the total score.
Extension Education Master Degree of the Department of Chinese Studies
一、Preliminary Trial: Examination of the applicants application materials.(40% out of the total score) which must include Statement of Purpose, Research Plan, Autobiography, Academic and Working Experience and other skill certifications.
二、Second Trial: Interview (60% out of the total score)
PhD Degree Class A the Department of Chinese Studies
一、Examination of the application materials, Written Test and Interview with the evaluation committee of Soochow University.
二、Application materials for 10％, Written Test for 60％ and Interview for 30％ of the total score.
PhD Degree Class B the Department of Chinese Studies
(for Cultural Creativity Industry Talents)
一、Examination of the application materials and Interview with the evaluation committee of Soochow University.
二、Application materials for 50％ and Interview for 50％ of the total score.
