common course retake Students who entered the university before (and including) 2012 and need to retake the courses to achieve 3/3 credits of Chinese, 2/2 credits of foreign language(1)-Reading, 1/1 credits of foreign language(1)-Practicing, 2/2 of History, 3/0 of information,and 2/2 of Democracy and Law should login into the school admistration system and go to the "common course retake" of the "special class" to register the repeated courses according to the course list.

Note: Please note that the repeated common courses and courses that need to be take in order to catch up on credits will be only available for 3 years until 2015(Democracy and Law will be opened until 2016).

  • English Exploration I: Students (excluding students in bachelor degree further education) who entered the university after 2008 must pass level B1 CEF to get graduated. or they can register the English Exploration I (2/0), English Exploration II (0/2) to achieve the total 4 credits to be equally qualified.
  • Suitable for: Bachelor students (excluding the students of English department) who entered the university after 2008.
  • Requirement: Students who must write English Proficiency Test at Soochow (without missing the test) or other organizations (please register at the department before the initial selection) can login into the system and registered during the period of the "initial selection” and "the selection of all the courses,” whether they have passed the test or not.
  • egistraiton instructions: please login into the school administration system and go to the "academic affairs" to find the courses according the path as below: "academic affairs" ->"student service"->"online registraion"-> "regular courses" ->"department"->"remedial courses"
★Notice:
  • Students of master degree, doctor degree, bachelor degree furthur education, master degree continuing education, or students who entered the university before 2007 will be unable to register for English Expolration I/II .
  • For students of bachelor degree who entered the university in 2007 and 2008, the credits of English Expolration I/II  can be counted as the graduation credits. For students who entered the university after 2010, the credits will not be counted as the graduation credits.
  • The manual registraion of this course is unavailable because it is the online system which controls the operation of qualification approval. Students want to register for the course please check about the course time table, the campus, and make sure to finish the registration during the registraion period through the school admistration system.
  • English Expolration I will be opened during the first semester,English Expolration II will be opened during the seconed semester
Tuition and miscellaneous fee:
  • The tuition and miscellaneous fee of the students in bachelor degree further education will be calculated according to the actual attendance hours: if the student only attends 4 hours of the first year English course (3 credits,) the tuition and miscellaneous fee will be calculated based on the 4 hours. For the delayed graduated students, a 4 hour tuition and miscellaneous fee will be charged as default.
