Prior Development and Teaching Features

Inter-disciplinary integration to balance globalization and localization under the combination of theory and practice.

Green environment and sustainable development education is important because human beings over-consume and over-develop in commerce and industry. Green environment and sustainable development education is not only the construction of knowledge but also anattitude response.

This is features of our program:

(1) Inter-disciplinary integration: Courses cover a variety of fields such as technology, liberal arts, society, law, and management. The content of each course also put inter-disciplinary integration into consideration through various ways such as team teaching and lecture.

(2) Balance of globalization and localization: This program includes both global issues such as the development of technology, ecology, and environment protection and local culture characteristics in the level of environment, economics, and society.

(3) Combination of theory and practice: With actual observation, fieldwork, research, and other intra-curricular and extracurricular activities, we achieve our education goal which is the cultivation of ability, view, and courage other than pure knowledge through the process of practice.

To respond to global sustainable development, products without green environment concepts can’t be promoted internationally. The green industry has been supported in the Western world for more than a decade, but it has just recently began in Taiwan. Therefore, there will be a strong demand for professionals with relevant knowledge. This program is aimed to cultivate students to participate in the development of the green industry to lead technology, products, and marketing operations matched with the industry cycle, the local industry as well as the consumption and life attitude of sustainable development of our citizens.

The guidance, internship, core, and professional courses in this program are as mentioned below.

*Guidance courses: Integrative introduction of the content and purpose of main courses.

*Internship courses: Arrange students to participate for learning from practical activity that contains experiment research, fieldwork, creation, volunteer service, and community service.

*Core courses: Assist students to apply certification of environmental education personnel for their career plan and options.

*Professional courses: Environmental technology, liberal arts and social science, industry and management, and law and policy.
